There are probably a thousand and one blogs yammering about "Don't for get those who died".
There's a thread on the forum following the same line.
Too bad a lot of these things are so damned hypocritical. For example one member effectively stated that the people who died in the Oklahoma Bombing back in April 19,1995 are less important because he was only a year old and didn't witness it.
Do I mourn for those that died? No. Should I? No. Should anyone? That's your choice. It could be argued that I don't care because I'm Canadian but that's not true. The dead are dead and mourning them changes nothing. "show some respect for the dead." Well I am. I'm not out there pissing on Ground Zero, I'm not digging up the dead and defiling the bodies am I?
When it happened I was in shock, not only at the attack but at the loss of life. I mourned them on that day and I felt sorrow for the families that were unsure for days after if they lost loved ones and I felt angry that something like that could happen. What do I feel now? Caution. I will never forget 9/11 But why should the significance of that one act deserve more remembrance than April 19?
People need to remember all the incidents. Timothy McVeigh killed 168 people, 19 of them Children, yet I haven't ANY blogs or threads on the forum asking to remember them. I would think it would be a much more important thing to remember than 9/11 because it was a HOMEGROWN TERRORIST.
What about Beirut and the Embassy bombing on April 18, 1983?
Why do you insist on remembering ONLY one incident? Jesus Christ, you have people in the Middle East fighting the "War on Terror".
If you want to honor those that fell at the hands of terrorists honor ALL of them.
