Saddam executed?

It's 10:13 pm ET. Saddam was to have been executed about 15 minutes ago. CNN is saying that 2 TV stations in Iraq are confirm his hanging has taken place. Until I see a body, I have my doubts.

While they were looking for him I seem to recall several doubles having been found/killed. At this point I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he is still alive. Maybe I'm a bit cynical on this but something just doesn't feel right about this.

I'm only 35 but I've seen some interesting things happen in history: The fall of the Berlin wall, the explosion of 2 space shuttles, fall of the World Trade Center, various assassinations/attempts, the fall of communism in Russia, massive devastation caused by natural events. I saw the capture of Saddam Hussein and knew that I was seeing more history unfolding in front of my eyes. This should be the continuation of that.

I don't think I can really explain what I'm feeling, or more precisely what I'm not feeling. I think the closest comparison I can give is like when I was a kid and I was told Santa wasn't real.

Saddam was captured 3 years ago. They say his influence in Iraq has diminished significantly. I guess now is the real test. All we can do is pray for whatever troops are over there, be they US, British or anywhere else that they remain safe. May the new year and Saddam's death bring them home.

As I've been typing this out I've been listening to CNN about this. They just reported that on Iraq station pegged Saddam's death at 10:05 pm ET the other one is saying that it was before 10:00... But news is starting to spread through the streets of Iraq.

Why I Hate Christmas

I love my family. I love my friends and I appreciate the message of unity and peace that this time of year is supposed to represent. But I still hate Christmas.

I hate it because of the week before and the 2 weeks after.

I despise shopping under the best of circumstances but you add the sheer insanity of a thousand people screaming, "OH MY GOD! 5 days until Christmas and I haven't bought anything for anyone!" Jam them into a mall of any size where things are on "sale"(I have my doubts about some items). I'd rather swallow a live block of Semtex and detonate it in my colon. It's a lot less painful.

Last night was, thankfully, the last of my Christmas shopping. The only reason I need to go back to the mall between now and the 25th is if I'm being paid a shit load of cash to kill someone or if zombies attack. Frankly I'd rather take my chances with the zombies.

This morning I took Logan to school. On my way back home I ran into the mother of a friend of Logan's. Niceties demanded I ask if she had finished her shopping yet and she replied with a, "No, I still haven't figured out what to get my husband."

Since we had seen her husband and son at the mall last night I asked if they were finished theirs. They were but her son was wanting to get his mom a special present. It seems he wants to get her a "Cemetery. That way you can see grandpa." That's a hell of a thought and a wish that can only come form a child.

I need a caffeine fix...

So I quit at Startek. I'm happy about that. Less stress. On the down side I'm unemployed again.
That's not all that bad. I'm looking into some of those work at home things. Maybe one of them will pan out. If it does I'll be sure to let people know.

Since I quit ODSP requires that I apply for Employment Insurance. Frankly I didn't want to because I knew I didn't have enough hours for it. But since they "require" that I do it, I did. The woman behind the counter thought I was nuts. Oh well. Lots of people think I'm nuts.

Logan got his report card the other day.
English: Read - B
Write - B
Oral - B

Math: Number sense and Numeration - B+
Measurement - B+
Patterning and algebra - B
Data Management and Probability - B

Science and Technology: B

Social Studies: B+

Health and P.E.: B

The Arts Music: B+

Visual Arts: C+

For his learning skills he got 6 Goods, 2 Excellents and 1 Satisfactory. The Satisfactory is for his conflict resolution. I guess drop kicking a kid doesn't work. Overall we're very happy with him. Hopefully he continues with his B average and quits drop kicking kids.

Santa comes in little more than a week. We got all of Logan's gifts, even if it means Carrie and I can't get anything for each other. We'll do what we can, but I'm not expecting much.

ODSP says they overpaid us because I was working even though all my pay stubs were submitted WELL BEFORE THEY WERE DUE. Fucking government. Two months in a row. First time was an overpayment of over $300.00, the second was over $400.00. Thankfully our rent is still getting paid.

I might quit.

I started my training at Startek on Sept 22 (or close to that date anyway). It was 3 weeks of classroom work, reading online lessons, doing role plays and testing. As I've said before I felt under trained.

After I started on the phones I was nervous of course. I struggled along with my classmates. I was getting used to how things worked and just starting to get a handle the Bell phone features. And that's about the time things started to change. I started to sleep less, eat less and began to feel sick to the stomach some mornings.

I was on the phones until Nov 8. That's when they pulled me aside and told me, not asked, that I was going to the sales cue. More training. And my stomach got worse.

As it stands right now I'm eating one meal a day (and it's a lot smaller than I would normally eat), I'm getting about 3 hours of sleep a night (sometimes less) and when I get out of bed in the morning I sometimes have a headache and always feel like I'm going to puke.

What's wrong with me? I have a good idea. My sister had the same problems when she was in school. She was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. I'm guessing my job is the source for mine.

I've worked in places I didn't like but I've never had this problem before. I've called in sick and today is the third day in a row. I'm going to the clinic today to talk to a doctor and I'm also going to call ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program). I think I'm going to quit but I need to make sure it's not going to mess with our ODSP payments. I doubt ODSP would cut us off, especially if I have medical reasons.

I spent close to an hour this morning crying. Worried how Carrie would feel about it. We talked and she's fine with it. On one level I'm worried about what the rest of my family will think. On another level I really don't care. If they want to bitch and moan and call me a quitter then they can all go fuck themselves. They don't need to speak to me at all or ever again.

On top of all that Carrie's got three cracked ribs. She was house cleaning a couple of weeks ago and slipped in he socked feet. She banged up against the rocking chair and we figured she'd just bruise a bit. She went to the hospital yesterday because she was still in pain and having some difficulty breathing, getting out of bed and just moving around. They x-rayed her and found lots of swelling and three cracked ribs.

My headache is coming back. I think I'll go have some toast and tylenol.

Emo?

A while ago on the Spec Ops forum a member asked, "Why don't people like Emo Kids?"

Several members commented on how annoying this group of kids are. How they walk around all depressed, wearing black (usually female clothes no less), complain about how no-one likes them and why the cut themselves. His response to this was, "We just want to be left alone. You're all pissed because I'm an individual."

That made me laugh. I fail to see how dressing, listening to the same music and acting like the rest of the Emo Kids makes you an individual, weather you are a "true" emo or a poser.

For a while I pretty much left it at that. Then someone at work made a comment that reminded me of the Emo.

I have no problem with someone trying to express themselves. I grew up surrounded by punks and goths. I dealt with potheads, geeks, nerds and jocks. Preps and wannabes. I did things people thought I was nuts for doing. I was accused of being a skin head when I shaved my head the first time. But emos?

I have a hard time accepting a group that claims to be original when the first emo kids ever were seen around in October 2, 1950. Who are these kids? Everyone and their dog should know them. If you haven't guessed it's none other than Charlie Brown and the gang. Read the comics, you'll see what I mean.

You want people to like you? Then why the hell are you being an annoying ass clown and whining about it? I hate to break the news to you but the universe shits on everyone. You want proof? Try living in Halifax NS for 12 years and being deathly allergic to seafood. Quit cutting yourself. Maybe the extra blood that makes it to your brain will let you have an intelligent thought.

God.. "I'm just not happy. I'm just not happy. I'm just not happy because my life didn't turn out the way I thought it would." Hey! Join the fucking club, ok!? I thought I was going to be the starting center fielder for the Boston Red Socks. Life sucks, get a fucking helmet, allright?! "I'm not happy. I'm not happy." Nobody's happy, ok!? Happiness comes in small doses folks. It's a cigarette, or a chocolate cookie, or a five second orgasm. That's it, ok! You cum, you eat the cookie, you smoke the butt, you go to sleep, you get up in the morning and go to fucking work, ok!? That is it! End of fucking list! "I'm just not happy." Shut the fuck up, allright? That's the name of my new book, "Shut the Fuck Up, by Doctor Denis Leary. A revolutionary new form of therapy." I'm gonna have my patients come in. "Doctor, I.." "Shut the fuck up, next!" "I don't feel so.." "Shut the fuck up, next!" "He made me feel so much better about myself, you know? He just told me to shut the fuck up and nobody had ever told me that before. I feel so much better now." Whining fucking maggots.

Thank you Dennis Leary. I couldn't have said it better myself.

A title that means nothing.

Work has been going. Even though I work for the phone company I can honestly say that they SUCK. I can't say why until Monday. But I can say it will piss people off to no end.

I had one customer, a politician, call in totally pissed offed. It seems that he had no phone service and the repair crews had gone out to fix it. As if that wasn't bad enough. According to Mr. Politician the construction company doing work across the street from his office was run by the Mafia and they were out to get him. At this point I'm thinking that I've been to the town where he is and there's no way the mob would be after a useless jerk like him, unless of course he owes them drug money. His town is way to small to be of interest to the mafia. He then begins to rant about how the "street gangs" of "worthless teenagers" are out to get him as well. DUDE! There are only about 2500 people in your town! What's the gang consist of? Two high school students walking in your direction to get to the corner store?

Then there are the really stupid things that shouldn't happen. Things like people getting charged for the installation of 9 phone jacks, or having a $100 refund increase the bill, or people who wait a FUCKING MONTH! before calling in because no-one actually came to the door and said their new phone was connected. GAH!

Halloween!

Halloween has come and gone. Logan was dressed as Superman. We were only out for about an hour and a half. The best part of the night was the guy dressed as a scarecrow with a jack-o-lantern head. He was sitting in a chair in his driveway and his wife was handing out treats. As the kids would leave he'd make a grab at them and scare the bejeebers out of them. Logan bolted out of the driveway and down the sidewalk. We called him back and he was laughing, "He pranked me didn't he?" All we could do was laugh with him.

The worst thing about the night was coming home. Why? Because as soon as we got in and finished sorting the candy there was a Christmas commercial on TV. Carrie thought I flipped my lid when I started swearing for no apparent reason. Why the hell can't we have a day or two of quiet before the Christmas rush begins?

Other Stuff

I've been trying to get my hands on a copy of Call of Duty. The FIRST version of the game. There is a paintball mod for it. Even if it's kind of cheesy I don't care. It's multi player online and many of the forum members play. I think it'd be kind of fun to play against them. If you know of any place I can get a copy let me know.

THE BELLS! THE BELLS!!!

Well technically it's Bell and the ding, but what ever.

It's been a LONG week at the new job. I'm working for Bell Canada in the billing department. It's not overly difficult but it seems that I'm woefully under-trained. It feels like we "glanced" at all the tools we're supposed to use and "glimpsed" the information we need. Three weeks learning this stuff nad I'm spending more time with my hand in the air trying to flag down a "red-hat" (expierenced co-worker) and being taught how to do this shit.

Monday was the last day of class room training. Tuesday we hit the floor and went live. It wasn't too bad but I had guessed we got off lucky. That night as I was taking the bus home I mentioned to Janet (one of the ladies that trained with me) that we'd see the shit hit the fan later in the week. I was right.

Wedensday it seemed like every crackhead in Ontario had called in. Thursdy seemed to be more of the same. I actually had one guy call in complaining that he was over charged by ONE FUCKING PENNY! Buddy, if you're THAT worried over one cent get rid of your damned phone. I spent 20 minutes trying to explain to one person that long distance is charged by the minute or any part there of. If you call your kids and ask them to call back, that 15 second call is billed as 1 minute.

Today was pretty mellow. The shitty part of today came from the slush that dropped out of the sky. Too warm for real snow but this stuff was still white and in piled up in a few areas. Nothing to shovel. Fortunately the rain god rid of most of it.

Thank god it Friday.

Man! Am I nuts or what?

So last weekend my sister, Paula, arrived from Halifax for a visit. It's always nice to see her, especially if she brings a treat with her. An boy did she bring a treat. Tickets to Paramount Canada's Wonderland.

It's an amusment park. Lots of fun stuff to do.

Right off the bat I headed for the Extreme Sky Flyer. It cost me $45.00 for the ride and anopther $23.00 for the video but it's well worth it.

Ride Stats:
Arch Height: 173 ft
Tower Height: 152 ft
Free Fall: 50 ft
Closest point ot he ground: 6 ft
Top Speed: 60 mph!

Now, I used to be afraid of heights. Not phobic about it, just never liked it.
As I was being winched up to the top of the tower it would tug at my waist and it felt as though I were going to tip over and fall out of the harness.

If you listen closely to near the end you can hear Logan, my son, say i did a good job! LOL!

After that we went over to ther Top Gun Roller Coaster.

Carrie and I were in the front seat. Keep in mind that this is only her second time at Wonderland, and her second time on this ride. Hell her first ride was seven years ago and her first time on ANY roller coaster! First time, 7 years ago, they took pics of each seat set and we were about 5 seats back. This time they had eliminated that option. It's now a video of the front seats only. As you'll see in the video it's based off of the movie Top Gun (duh!) and simulates the flight charactreistics of a fighter plane! WOOT!

I have to give Carrie credit for doing this. Even though she was scared she held up pretty damned good!

Other than that've been busy at work training. 5 am is still too damned early to be up, but I'm on my last week of training and on the phones soon.

BUSY!!!!

So last Tuesday we went to Ottawa to see WWE Smackdown . It was a pretty decent show, Carrie was thrilled that Batista was there. There weere only two problems though.

The first probelm was that on the way home I missed our exit and we almost ended up in Cornwall. The other problem was worse, at least from Carrie's perspective.

Before we left Kingston we stopped into Shoppers Drugmart to pick up a couple of single use cameras. The Life brand (Shopper's house brand) ones were on sale so we got two of them. Last Wedensday we took them into be developed. They didn't. We ended up with only 2 or 3 images on the film. No Batista pics.

This past Friday we went to the Queen's Univerity vs Ottawa University hockey game. We had dinner there with a couple of the djs from the radio station. Queen's lost 8-2.

I started work on Monday. That's the good thing.

What sucks is that I have to be up at 5 am for 3 weeks so I can do a 25 minute walk to catch a bus downtown so I can be at work for 7 am. Once I'm there I have to climb up 3 flights of stairs to get to the 4th floor where the training room is.

Yesterday was REALLY bad. I'm not used to being up that early so I was tired as it was. Now let's add reading a few hundred pages of company policy, signing pay information and reading more legal crap.

Today I'm still a bit tired but at least we started the actual traing. That kind of helped keep me awake. 5:00 am is still WAY too early though.

The Worm has Turned!

I had a job interview today at StarTek, a local call center. I left thismorning at 11:00 am and didn't get home untill 4:00pm. LONG freaking day! But I got the job.

I'll start training on Sept. 25 at 7 am and that will take 3 weeks. So I'll be up at 5 am YUCK! After that though I'll be starting at 8am the earliest and done around 5:30. Pay is $10.00 an hour. Not the most I've ever made, but better than a kick balls.

When I finally got home I found out that St. Lawrence College sent me a letter of acceptence. If I take it I'd start school in January. I think I'll stick to work for now.

I think it's time to buy me a lotto ticket. Good things happen in 3's. Maybe I'll get REAL lucky.

Curse the luck!

The local radio station was doing a contest for the summer, 96 days of summer. Twice a day they would annouce "Be caller X". If you were lucky enough to be the right caller you won a gift certificate and a ticket to the radio party at the bar. Winners to the party had a chance to win a grand prize worth $10,000.00.

A few weeks ago my wife lucked out and was the right caller. She got a $25.00 gift certificate at a nice restuarant and her ticket to the party.

Two weeks later I got in as well. My gift certificate wa for a women's clothing store. GAH!

Last night was the party. We arrived at 5:30, if you weren't registered by 6:00 too bad for you. We register, watch them put our names in the ballot box, fill out the stub for door prizes and look for a seat.

They announced that through out the evening they would draw door prizes and a "Final 10" for the grand prize.
during the second set of door prize draws I won. This time a Gift certificate for home furnishings. As the night wore on I ended up being the LAST name for the big prize.

They called the 10 of us up on stage did the last of the door prizes. The wife won $100 certificate for rustproffing of a car, we don't have one.

Now the way the Grand prize was decided was all 10 names go into a bag. First person called draws a name and that person is out, pick your own name too bad. I was the 5 make pulled out. But I still got a parting gift......

$50.00 for any auto repair at a local garage. I still don't have a car

Hopefully my parents can use them before they expire.

End of the Summer

Yeah. I know, it's not that original, but I don't care.

It's the last long weekend of summer vacation. At least here in Canada it is. Many of the paintball forum members have been back to school for a few weeks already.

Logan is looking forward to his first day of Grade 1 tomorrow. As are Carrie and I. More for the bit of piece and quiet it means. Don't get me wrong, we do love him but 3 months of "Can we go to the park?" 95 times a day can wear you down.

Carrie's looking forward to her first day back as well. She's only 4 credits short of getting her grade 12. She's got 2 books left in her English and World History before she gets those 2 credits. She plans to take Co-op and Art: Photography for her last 2 credits.

What am I going to do? Well, since Logan is in school full-time I'll keep looking for work.

In the meantime, I'm looking forward to Wed. Carrie and I won tickets to a party by a local radio station. There are going to be prizes handed out, grand prize is worth $10,000.00 total. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Corrupted?

One of the guys on the paintball forum, Tyger, produces a FPS of paintball.
I was trying to watch them on line one day and Logan asked if he could watch too. Silly me I said sure. Next thing I know he;s asking ot watch them over and over again. So I burned some to SVCD and he wathes them regularly.

I thought that was the extent of the "corruption." I was wrong.

This morning as I'm checking my emails Logan is busy running back and forth from his room collectng army ment and other bits and pieces. Eventually he comes out with acouple of astronaunt figures. He asked me one question about them, "Are thses the refs?"

Good thing I wasn't drinking my coffee yet, I'd have a big mess to clean up from laughing.

Here's a couple of pics of him playing paintball.

Time keeps on slipping, slipping slipping into the future.....

Tuesday Aug 15 was Logan's last soccer games. Yes games.

It was finals. For the first half they played one team, had half time then wne on and played a second team. The kids had no idea who actually one, but as parents go Logan's team lost and won. Not that it matters. It's more fun to watch them out there then anything else.

At the end of the game each player on every team got a trophy.

Logan's Soccer Trophy! Posted by Picasa

On won hand I think it's a bad idea to give them a reward jsut for playing, but since no official score was kept you can't really deny them a reward either. Logan is very proud of himsefl for getting the trophy.

He's also super proud of himself for learning to ride his bike and scooter. The training wheels are off and he just goes!

Carrie and I are stressing a little right now. September 5 is the first day back to school. Logan starts grade 1. He's very excited about, it means he's a big kid and can cross the street on his own. We've been trying to get him to be more street safe. He's getting there but sometimes i think I'm having a heart attack. trying to get him to look both ways doesn't seem to be a problem. It's getting him to do it properly and all the time. just as often as not he'll just snap his head back and forth and say it's safe to cross, meanwhile there's a freaking city bus 10 feet away and closing! GGGGGGGAAAAAAHHHH!!!!

My mother's been stressing a bit too. They've got thier house up for sale. Seems that the realtor has set up views form the place a couple of times and has shown up 2 to 3 hours late. It wouldn't be so bad but the idiot doesn't keep thier cell on. If the parents don't sell soon they'll be taking it off the market untill next spring.

Oddness

So yesterday was Tuesday. My mother came down to see Logan's soccer game. She arrived around 10:00 am to take me golfing.

Golfing was fun. It was a 9 hole course, par 36. I shot a 55. I might have done better except for a few inhibiting factors.
1- this was my second game of golf. EVER.
2- I was using borrowed clubs. From my mohter. Yes, ladies clubs. They were about 4 inches too short.
3- I had no practice time. If I had hit a bucket of balls at the driving range I could have gotten used to the clubs and maybe did better.

On the other side of the coin I could have had a higher score if we included the loss of 5 or 6 balls.

I also "broke" a club. it was on the 7th hole. I was using the 3 iron. I head the crack of a perfect hit and lost sight of the ball as I tracked the club head in a mild hook.

Grandma alos bought Logan a new bike which was nery much needed by Logan. His old bke is way too small.

I also came across a face recognition website thanks to one of the guys on the SpecOps forum (link is on the right). Face Rcognition The results will vary depending on the quality and expression on your face.

I used the 2 pics below and got the following results:

I think my underwear melted....

Yeah it's that hot. As I write this it's 31°C, and withthe Humidex it's 43°C.

What's the Humidex? {quote}A calculation combining air temperature and relative humidity, given in degrees Celsius. It represents the heating effect felt due to a lack of body moisture evaporation, and gives the average person a "feeling" for how hot and stuffy the air is. Humidex is reported only during the summer months.
In Canada the area most affected by this combination of very high temperature and high humidity is southern Ontario and Quebec as moist tropical air pushes up from the Gulf of Mexico in the summer.{unquote} Think of it as the opposite of the Wind Chill Factor.

For those of you that aren't familiar with the Metric System 32°C is 87.80°F, 43°C is 109°F
Here's a quick refernce table:

C F
0 32
10 50
20 68
30 86
40 104
50 122

So not only is it damned warm but it's sticky. Add a smog warning into the mix and the weather is down right shitty. All I can say is I'm glad I have an air conditioner. It's not too bad inside, but that instant sheen of sweat all over the second you walk outside is annoying.

Logan was supposed to go to his soccer game tonight but we said no. With his asthama this weather is a huge concern for his health.

This morning we all had appointments at the eye doctors. Logan needs new weaker lenses, carrie and I both need stronger one. On the plus side none of us show signs of eye disease.
What REALLY sucked is the fact that Carrie and I ended up getting those stupid eyedrops. You kow, the ones that dilaite your pupils? Not fun on a sunny day.

I also found out I have "dirty eyeballs", at least that's what Logan says. Seems the redness under my eye is caused by clogged pores at the base of the eyelashes. All theses years i thought it was because I had allergies!

Basically my tears aren't mixing properly. So to fix that I need to use a warm compress on each eye for about 5 minutes, to loosen the guck, then I need to use water and a bit of baby shampoo to clean it and a good rinse. After doing that for the next 2 weeks I should notice my eyes being less light sensitive and no more redness. WHEEEEEEEEEEE!!! No more itchy eyelashes!

Training wheels!

2 days ago I took the training wheels off of Logan's bicycle. He wasn't overly impressed with the idea.

That same day I took him and his bike to the park. we spent about 15 minutes there trying to get him to ride. His best was about 30 feet before he crashed.

Good try! Posted by Picasa

Yesterday we went again. This time we spent a good 30 to 40 minutes practicing. Best distance: 300 yards, no crashing.

I'm UP! Posted by Picasa

Today we went again. Thanks to the heat and humidity we only stayed about 15 minutes again. We worked on learning to turn the bike. He basically ran the bases onf the ball field on his bike, first clockwise then counter clokwise. After that we went over to the basketball court to ride on the pavement. We also practiced using the breaks. Although not 100% successful he did great.

Just a little help! Posted by Picasa

Afterwards he rode his bike home on the sidewalk. I only had to grab his bike twice to keep him from going off of the curb!

SUPER PROUD!

LAst night was soccer. Logan's team was there in full force. Thier opponents on the other hand only had 5 members show up. That could have been a forfeit. But the Coaches talked about it and as long as 2 memnbers from the Red Ants went over the game would continue.

The coach asked and Logan stood up and said he'd go. We didn't have to tell him or even try to convince him. We had explained to him sometime ago about what would happen if there weren't enough players on a team. We explained to him about what being a good sport was about. None of the other kids were willing to go untill Logan stood up and volunteered. No matter how much we complain that he doesn't seem to listen to us, when he does something like that we feel like we ARE doing a good job of being parents.

WOOT!

Been busy. Lots of useless crap going on .

Still haven't sold my kid to a sweatshop. I'm still willing otaccept offeres.

Logan's been busy with Tuesday night soccer. His team, the Red Ants, has beenon a winning streak. Last night Logan started the game off with the opening kick. And even though his team won, 2-1, Logan had no goals or assists.

Last week he played goal for the first half. There were 3 shots against him and all were stopped. He also scorred a goal in the second half.

He seems to have found a girlfriend there too.

Outside of soccer we've been busy with friends. Mostly on account of kids. WE found out that on the base there's a little water park for the kids to play at.

Roleplaying games are taking place on Friday and Sunday nights. There have been trips downtown just for the hell of it.

Today though is going to be laundry/house cleaning day. GAH! At least it's raining outside.

Oops.... Time to go put the laundry in.. I'm getting the "look". I think I;d like to get laid tonight.

Would I go to jail if....

I sold my kid to a Tiwanese sweatshop?

Logan's friend spent the night last night. That was all weel and good. They went to bed around 2330hrs and we neer head a peep from them until after 0700 this morning.

Logan was good inthat he made them both breakfast. They were both nice and quiet, playing in Logan's room or watching TV.

When I climbed out of bed that's when I noticed the smell and then the can. A can of Deep Woods Off. I picked it up knowing it wasn't there last night and to the best of my knowledge it wasup on a shelf out of reach. I noticed that, what was once a full can, was nearly empty.

As I approched Logan's room to find out who had used it and why the sweetish stink of it got stronger. When asked neither of them admitted to using it. Then both siad the other did it. At the time only Logan got a swat on the ass, and a good hard one too, because he has been told tie and time again not to touch it and why. His friend got a smack on the backside as well but not untill his father showed up to give it.
Both of them were give damp clothes and made to wipe down the floors in the bedroom, living room and kitchen.

As of right now Logan is sitting on the couch without access to his computer untill July 3. He's not allowed to watch TV for the rest of the day, play outside or even play with his toys.

And this happens the day after I get rejected by the Commissionaires Corps. I did the tests but failed in filling out the reports. Basically they sid I'm an idiot and can't use me. At least I can accept that as a reason. Best Buy a few months ago said they wouldn't hire me because I was unemployed.

If I sell Logan to a sweat shop at least I would accomplish 2 things: I'd make some money and redue my stress levels.

The Tooth Fairy is a coming!

Logan is now a gapped toothed hill-billy. He pulled his tooth out today at school, on his own.

Some of the kids in his class think he's real brave for doing it. The boys from upstairs think it's really cool that Logan did it. Guess I have to go to the store and get some change for the Tooth Fairy.

Tuesday Logan had his first soccer game. It was a hoot! 2 goalies and 12 kids "fighting" for the same soccerball. Before he got asigned to a team Logan said he was going to be Number 10 on the red team. He was right.

He was supposed to go last week, but with things the way they were we didn't go. Logan's team, the Red Ants, won the game 5-1. Logan didn't score but he did get an assist!

Wiggle it! Just a little bit!

Wiggle it just a little bit, I wanna see you wiggle it just a little bit, as it grooves
Wiggle it just a little bit, I wanna see you wiggle it just a little bit, as it grooves

Can you guess what's happening now? No?

Well yester Logan went to his friends house to play. He was there less than 20 minutes when we get a phone call. As parents we're thinking he's had an accident of some kind.
That was sort of right.

Turns out he had a popsicle and "Broke his tooth". No he didn't really break a tooth on a popsicle. He's got his first loose tooth. It's his bottom front on his right.

When we went to pick him up we took a look at it. The thing is pretty danged wiggly. I'm thinking it'll will be ready to come out by Weds.

Hope the Tooth Fairy is ready for this mission. How much is a tooth worth these days?

We got a call

The Doctor finally called.

First bit of good news I've had all week. NO CANCER

I can actually breath again. The doctor is still considering doing a hystorectomy but we'll know more in September after Carrie's next appointment.

More waiting.

We finally got a hold of the doctors office today. But still no news. The secretary said she can't/won't read the results in case she reads something wrong. The doctor is busy and may not be able to get back to us untill next week.

Nothing like draging shit out.

And now I have a freaking head cold. GAH!

Scared

Yeah. I am.

I've had people come at me with knives, swords, bats, crowbars and fists. I've nearly been hit by trains, cars, transports, bikes, skateboards. I've nearly gone over the side of a 400 foot cliff.

None of that bothered me.

The last time I was afraid was when Logan was seriously ill and could have died.

Today I, we, found out that Carrie may have some serious health problems. She went to her gynocologist appointment today. I'm glad she did.

For the last several years she has had problems with her period. Very irregular, very heavy, very painful. She had been diagnosed with polycystic overies and told that that was the source of the problems. Today we found out that was mostly true.

The doctor has seen many cases of polycystic ovary syndrome that have turned into cancer. She took a biopsy sample from Carrie. Based on the look of the sample the doctor doesn't think it looks good. Now we have to wait a few days untill the results come in to confirm it.

All I can do is hope. And I feel so small and angry becasue that's all I can do.

Death in the family

Yup. There was a death.

Harvey Hamtaro Hamster passed away last night. We had him for about 4 years and he was BIG. Many of our friends mistook him for a baby Guinea Pig.

Compared to most of the hamsters I've met he was extremely gentle and well behaved, never bit ANYONE. Except the Carrie, but that's because she had been eating sunflower seeds before she picked him. She didn't bleed so it wasn't a hard bite, he just wanted to tase the food. LOL

We now have a sad 6 year old boy. Harvey was his first pet and the first pet to die. But we all must learn about death at some point. Best to tell him up front what happened instead of shielding him from it by buying a replacement hamster with out telling him. Logan seems to be taking it well though. He help dispose of the body and just asked if he should through the hamsterfood in the trash. "Harvey won't need it now", he said.

Now all that's left to do is sterilize the tank that was Harvey's home. Hot water and some bleach will take care of that. Once it's clean we're going to look into getting another snake. I'd like to get a Califonia King Snake. If not that then maybe a bearded dragon.

Well, we'll have to look around and see.

Reeeee.....Jected!

I applied to College. I waited patiently for an acceptence letter. I checked the online servie for confirmation regularly. Nothing.

I emailed the college to see if there was a delay due to a strike. There was no delay. All letters of acceptence were posted on March 31. So that means I'm not going to school.

It hurts. I am so tired and stressed out form being rejected. I can understand why people commit suicide. It's such an easy road to go down. It certainly seems as if evrything in life is doing it's damnest to push me that way.

My mother keeps telling me that "one door closes, another opens" . But right now I feel like there are no other doors.

With luck (HA! this proves I don't have any) I should be back to "normal" in a day or two.

Wish I had the cash to go play paintball and vent my frustrations by shooting at people....

Ouch part 2. OR The Hazards of Easter

So 10 days ago I had a tooth ripped out of my face becasue it broke. I was ok with that.

Yesterday was Easter and we got some chocolate.

This morning I'm enjoying a bit of it before I head off to the dentist to begin my cleaning. I'm letting the chocolate melt a bit before it chew enjoying the creamy texture. I start to chew when I feel a crunch.

At first I thought "neat a bit of un mixed cocoa or a random nut." Then I realized the nut wasn't chew able.

Turns out another tooth broke. I just called the dentist to let them know that I may not be getting a cleaning done today.

I've been expecting this to happen for the last 10 years. My dentist in Calgary warned my some of my teeth were more filling than tooth and they would eventually break. I ws hoping it wouldn't happen untill I had full dental coverage again or I could afford to cap my teeth. All I can do now is hope that I can get through school, get a job and coverage before any more break.

With luck this one can be saved instead of pulled.

Let's add to the suffering now. Carrie's mom and dad are coming for a visit. the'll be here untill Thursday. It's not that I don't like them, but since our bedroom is still in the dinig room we won't be able to have sex for a while.
Wel, you know what hey say: Things happen in threes.... LOL

OUCH!

Went back to the dentist last night. They removed the temporary filling that was put on last week. After a bit of grinding he gave me some options.

1- Put a couple of pins into the tooth and rebuild it. No garantee as to how long it would last. Becasue of it being a molar and how the break was normal chewing could shear the pins and I'd be back in the chair.

2- Do a root canal and install a post. A post is thicker and stronger than the pins. Root canal would need to be done to make room for the post. My coverage would allow the root canal, but no the post. Since I had no money to cover the post it wasn't an option.

3-Pull the fucker out of my face. Cheap, covered and only one visit. So that was what I went with.

At this point I'd had 2 needles just to remove the temp filling. I got 3 more to go with them, 2 in the roof of the mouth. OUCH!!! He waited a couple of minutes and stared to pull. It felt like he was pulling the upper jaw right out of my head. No pain but lots of pressue. After five minutes or so he stopped. He siad it was too stubborn and he was going to cut the tooth into 3 pieces. Five more minutes of drilling followed by 10 minutes of pulling and I was done. Install one disovable stitch sit me up and kick me out. DONE!

I have a mild headache, minor swelling and the belleding stopped sometime last night while I was sleeping. I would like to eat but I'm a bit ill feeling from swallowing all that blood. I'm not allowed to eat or drink anything hot and I hate piss warm coffee.... Oh well, what can you do?

har har har! Posted by Picasa

Here we are. April 4, 2006. A bit disapointing weather wise seeing as on Friday I was able to spend the day in shorts and a t-shirt. Saturday wasn't too bad. Sunday was cold, Monday added rain and today is the same. Sigh.

I'm still waiting to hear back from St. Lawrence College about my application. Acceptence letters were supposed ro go out on friday. Even thought the stike is over I doubt they'll be out on time. So I have to worry and wait.

Last Sunday I was eating a roast beef sandwich at lunch. Broke a molar. Good thing I had a dentist appointment on that Monday. Got a temp filling put in and go in this Thursday to get the real one done.

We've had a couple of problems on the paintball forum the last couple of days. Seems some of the memebrs feel that the new mods are a tad over zealous in handing out warnings. One member (signed up in June '05 and has under 200 posts) has gone so far as to sell off all of his Special Ops Paintball gear and quite the foum. All becasue he felt he was above the rules. Stupid is as stupid does. He's also vowed to go on a Quixote quest to thwart the tyrany of the forum.

I did something on the forum I've never done before. I read a members tea leaves. HERE is the full thread. My nmae on there is Puzuma (Duh)and the target for the read is JKLNHYD. aside from couple of comments on the forum we've never spoken. I drank the tea while focusing on his photo he uplaoded in his profile and posted my results. He's copied them and is adding his comments as things go by. I've already given him the willies. I hope it turns out to be accurate. I may have a new online business.

Paintball Pros Punished

And it's about time.

Don't get me wrong. I love the sport. Weather it's woodsball or speedball. But the speedball tournemant scene is seriously messed up. It has been for years. Ramping, cheaterboards, wiping. Certanly not smart things for pro players to do. The general response of the Speedball community is "Everyone does it so I will too."

I'm not saying woodsballdoesn't have it's share of cheaters, but woodsball also isn't "The Future of Paintball" the way speedball is.
Honor and integrity are going the way of us old school pump players. It's consideed "cute" but useless.

Seems to me the tollerance for the "bending" of the rules has finally bit speedball in the ass.

Several incidents at the 2006 PSP Texas Open have put a black spot on the sport of paintball. The conduct of teams and players may have reached an all-time low in and around this event.

Based on the number of incidents and the damage caused, both financially and to the reputation of paintball tournaments in general, I have decided to take unprecedented action in hopes of deterring players and teams from making the same mistakes in the future. These intolerable incidents affect the outcome of tournaments as well as the finances of the PSP and ultimately the finances of all teams, vendors, and sponsors involved in the tournament. They also affect the reputation of the sport of paintball and the ability of the PSP and other tournament organizers to find and secure desirable venues.

I feel it is time to hold people accountable for their immature, selfish, and irresponsible actions.

Over the past 5 months, PSP had been engaged in ongoing talks with the Marriott Corporation about future involvement with tournament paintball. The talk had progressed slowly, but steadily. Significant efforts on both sides were destroyed by the actions of teams staying in Marriott hotels in the Austin area during our Texas event.

Include strong call-to action links to various pages of your website to drive traffic and open up additional possibilities to convert browsers into buyers. The day after our staff returned from the event, we were contacted by Marriott and advised that they were not only uninterested in any additional talks, but that they were also letting their hotels in the area of our future events know not to book rooms for paintball teams or players.

This loss of a possible huge outside sponsor and hotel partner was brought about by the selfish acts of several teams who stayed at various Marriott hotels during the event. I have a list of names of people who booked the rooms that were damaged. I have cross referenced these names with the ID system. Until the teams provide the names of those specific individuals who caused the damage, every player on the roster of these teams will be suspended from PSP events.

Members of Team Demolition, Choppapb.com, Anarchy, Infinity, and Montage will be suspended for various lengths of time ranging from 1 tournament to a lifetime ban from PSP events. These suspensions stem from various degrees of damage done to the rooms and facilities of a Marriott hotel in which they were guests. Some of the people on these teams are responsible for the breaking off of talks between PSP and the Marriott Corporation regarding future rate deals, sponsorship, and additional involvement between the two companies.

Team Clutch won the Division 3 Xball tournament. They did so with an illegal roster. This was not simply an oversight, but was a deliberate act of manipulating the ID system, and submitting misleading information in order to have members of the team’s classification dropped. Part of this problem stems from the staff believing the stories told to them and consequently dropping players’ classifications. The other part of this problem was the deliberate and intentional misrepresentation of identity in order to have a team compete below its rightful level. At no point in the future will any player’s classification be changed regardless of circumstances. There is no need for any player to contact anyone in PSP with a request for classification change from this point on. It will not happen.

While I am certain that not all members of the team had prior knowledge of the scheme, I am left with no reasonable choice but to hold all accountable to some degree. The team has been stripped of all points from the Texas event. Several members of the team will be suspended from PSP events for 3 events. Others will be suspended for 1 year. Two individuals will be suspended for life. Adjustments will be made in terms of payout of prizes and distribution of tournament seed points toward year-end standings for the other teams in their division.

On Sunday, Todd Martinez decided to take a PSP-rented golf cart for a joy ride through the awards ceremony. He crashed the golf cart into the guide wires anchoring one of the tripod poles, which hold the net up on the NXL field. The tripod pole was bent and is no longer usable. The golf cart was damaged and PSP has been billed for the repairs. He will be suspended from play for 1 year. He must reimburse PSP for the damages to the golf cart before he will be allowed on the property of any future PSP event.

Here is the list of suspensions handed out to players/teams from the Texas event.

· Billy York – probation
· Trent Wilson – probation
· Grover Srader – probation
· Michael Fitzpatrick – probation
· Jesse Babb – 1 year suspension
· Tanner Russell – Lifetime ban from PSP events
· Daniel Orren – 1 year suspension
· Adam/Donald/DJ Thomsen – Lifetime ban from PSP events
· Todd Martinez – 1 year suspension and reimbursement of costs for damage

The following is the list of players whose teams caused considerable damage and disruption to one of the hotels. PSP has no way of determining specifically which of the individuals on these teams who rented the rooms is ultimately responsible for the unacceptable actions. We are aware of the particular rooms that had damage, as well as the acts of outright stupidity that occurred. Thus, we are holding all members of the teams on which the players who rented the rooms are rostered accountable for the actions of their teammates.

At this point in time, the following players are suspended indefinitely. As more specific information becomes available, there may be changes made in regard to the duration of suspensions for individual players.

I hope this message gets to the teams and players in the vein that it was intended. I would be remiss in my duties as the head of the world’s largest tournament league if I let these types of actions continue unpunished. The result of the misdeeds of players at this past event goes far beyond the scope of most players’ knowledge. We are losing sponsorship. We are losing respect. We are now losing the ability for teams to stay at hotels of their choice simply because they are related to the sport of paintball. If we decide to have another event in Texas, the PSP will not be able to rent equipment from the most reasonable vendor, making production of the event much more difficult. Other Texas paintball events may have to face these same issues. It is a very real possibility that no paintball players will be able to stay at Marriott Hotels in the future.

This is a simple message – players and teams competing in PSP events will be held accountable for their actions and the actions of their teammates and others involved with their team. Heed the warning!

Lane Wright CEO/President Paintball Sports Promotions

Yeah. I know. "So what? A hotle room or two got trashed. Big deal." Well, guess what? It's not a big deal. It's HUGE deal.

So now these "pro" teams are short players, not that it matters as some were sandbaging, or the team was suspended entirely. What's that mean? Look at it from a sponsors perspective.

The team you've been giving money to to wear YOUR logo and promote YOUR products is no longer able to attened ANY toury on the PSP circut untill the team is back to a full roster or the suspensions are over. You are now losing advertising revenue. You are now also associated with a group of unruly individuales/teams. What will you do? Pass it off as many in the speedball world are willing to do as "boys will be boys"? Or are you going to punish them as well? Pull your sponsorship and find a team that's more professional or at the very least cut your level of sponsor ship? I know what I'd do. I'd pull thier funding.

If speedball wants to be the future of the game then the leagues (psp, MXL, NPPL, and so on) along with the sponsors need to pull thier heads out of their asses and LEARN from this.

I pray to the paintball gods (if there is one) and hope things change.

Hell week!

It started out ok. Nothing bad happening.
Tuesday the Colleges went on strike, so I have no clue what that's going to do with me being accepted. They say it won;t affect anything but what's the poing in beinf accpted if I can't learn?

Wed. was Logan's birthday. He had 5 kids show up for his party. WE ended up running 30 minutes longer than expected, but that was ok. Logan had a lot of fun and got some good stuff.

My birthday was on Thurs. Not much happened. Spent most of our money on Logan so I didn't get anyting from Carrie, except fun in the bedroom, and that was good enough for me! A friend of our got me the Hulk on DVD and today my mom, grandma and sister are coming for a visit, more for Logan's birthday than mine. Mom said she did get me a gift. Hope it's good. She said she thinks I'll like it, but we'llhave to see.

Friday we had another flood in the bedroom. This time id wrecked our bed.

Last week the washing machine was replaced. The lady on the 3rd floor did laundry Friday morning and didn't care that the drainage hose from the washer to the sink was "missing" she "assumed that they hooked it up differently". the rinse cycle kicked in and we got rained on.

I used a piece of coat hanger to McGyver a hose clamp. Hopefully it holds.

We contacted the landlords of course. When they stopped by to see what happened we asked about our bed. they told us that we had to pay for it but we would be reimbursed. Thankfully mom was able to get a KICK ASS DEAL on a new set so we had something to sleep on last night. Now all we need are pillows.

You want an embarassment to the sport?

Look at Canada's Men's Hockey team....

Actually don't. It's enough to make you want to cry.

The Olympics is supposed to be about the best your country has to offer. If these "professional;" players are the best Canada has to offer, then we have to look at getting some amatures on the next team.

I would have expected better form pro team players. Note the words: PRO TEAM PLAYERS.
"They didn't even have a true checking line". So what? They are supposed to be professionals. They should be good enough and able to adapt. The coaching staff SHOULD have assigned a players as checkers.

"They were stock-piled with NHL scorers". Fat lot of good that did.

"Another disappointment was Canada's undisciplined play. Too often, players took penalties that proved costly." Yup. But again, these are PROFESSIONAL players. They should have disciplined played NO MATTER WHAT. They should be able to be put on a team with a bunch of guys that never put skates on and still play a good game.

I've heard people complain that the Canadain Men's team didn't have time to practice together. WHAT THE HELL? Some practice would have been good, but again, they're supposed to be PRO HOCKEY PLAYERS. They've played with/against each other often enough that they should know thier styles of play, the coaching staff even more so. They should have been able to set up better lines. All of the players should have been able to follow a coaches instructions and follow a game plan.

Well Buke Lacktavose, there's your "embarrassment to Canada and a blemish on the sport".

Monday, February 13, 2006

Shut the fuck up.

What the hell is wrong with people? The Canadian Women's Hockey team has been kicking some serious ass in Torino. 16-0 against Italy, 12-0 against Russia. That's damned awesome. So why are some people complaining they are an embarassment to Canada?

This is the Olympics people. The team members are SUPPOSED to be the best the country has to offer. I'll admit that maybe, maybe, the thrashing of Italy was a bit harsh but that's only beacuse they are new to this. But you don't improve if someone takes it easy on you.

I was discussing the first win with a US friend of mine over AIM. He was quite proud that the US Women's Hockey team won 2 games, both shut out. Thier game against Russia was 3-0. His reasoning is taht Russia is a much tougher team than Italy could ever hope to be. Based on previous performances by any Russian hockey team they should have been a challenge. If they were that good why did we get a 12-0 win?

I came across this article on the (CBC website)
talking about weather or not our women's team was right in thier wins. Don Cherry, never a big fan but I did (yes did) respect him, said that as a coach if his ream had a big lead he'd get the guys to ease up. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ABOUT? You don't want embarrass an obviously inferior team? I'd be more embarrassed if I found out you "took it easy" on me.

This is in the article:
"What a terrible display of poor sportsmanship," fan Buke Lacktavose wrote in CBC's Hometown Heroes message board. "The way the women's hockey team ran up the score against Italy – what an embarrassment to Canada and a blemish on the sport."

You sir, are an absolute and utter dipshit. I'd like to use stronger more descriptive words but there isn't a word in any language to describe you. An embarrassment to Canada? A blemish on the sport? How so? Becasue they played thier best and won? OR because they play better then 90% of the men in the NHL?

All I can say now is that I hope they DESTROY the rest of the competition as they have with the first 2 teams. I look forward to seeing Canda vs USA for gold and seeing the USA lose 12-7. If the US can actually play that strong of a game....

It sucks being 5.

It been a rough month for Logan.

Around the middle of January Logan came home from school with lice. So we bought the goop for all of our hair and shaved Logan's head. He was quite upset that he lost hid rat tail to.

Yesterday he went to school. I picked him up and he was fine. He was fine all afternoon. At bedtime I was reading him his story and noticed a couple of spots on his face and forhead. I figured Nova and Logan had been playing and he had a scratch. Boy was I wrong.

Spots started popping up on his arms and legs. All over his back and chest. He was doing fine at bedtime. Not scratching or even complaining of being itchy. He even went to sleep fine. I still needed to get some stuff for him so I ran off to the drugstore.

I checked in on him at 2200hrs and he was still snoring away. I went to bed at 0000hrs and slept untill 0200. WhenI went to the bathroom I could hear Logan grumbling.

I go into this room to see if he's ok and he says, "Daddy, having chicken pox is no fun." I spent the next 10 minutes dabbing Calamine Lotion on as many spots as I could. I gave him a couple of kids Advil and he went back to sleep....I wish I did.

At 0800 he comes into my bedroom saying he's itchy again. More Calamine put on him. As of right now he's in the bath tub with some colloidal oatmeal treatment. He asked me if he could have a spoon to eat the oatmeal. He seemed rather disapointed that I said no.

Now if that isn't bad enough. Carrie, appearently, hasn't had chicken pox. Personally I've never met anyone that's had chicken pox as an adult, all I've heard are rumors that it's by far alot worse than for a kid. So I'm the only one that's healthy, but I've been told I can still be a carry for it for a few days. Better safe than sorry I guess.

Onver the last few days on the Spec Ops forum (link in the side bar) We, the forum satff, have been talking about upgrading the software. I believe the version that was being used was version 3. the new software is version 6 or something. It was thought the upgrade would only take an hour or so. That was at around 1600hrs yesterday, it is now nearly 1200, 20 hours later. And it's still being worked on. "Computers will make thing easier for everyone!" HAHAHA! <- My sarcastic laugh. The 1950's were sooooo full of shit!

Tattoos!

Well, I finally got quotes on my tattoos that I want.....
Image hosting by Photobucket
Price- 4.5" x 3" -$170.00 or 5.5" x 4" - $200.00 and will be placed on the left side of my chest.I'll be getting the smaller one. Cutting out the large one it looks TOO big.

Image hosting by Photobucket
This would next on my list. Price- 4" x 3.5" - $170.00 or 4.5 x 5.5 - $200.00 and would be put on my forearm. I'm thinking the large size on the right one, just below the elbow

And finally
Image hosting by Photobucket
3.5 x 3.5- $150.00 or 4.5 x 4.5 - $170.00 Again I think the larger one is what I'll get. This would be placed on the back of my neck/head.

After tlaking ot my mother she said she might be able to do a birthday fund for the first one. SWEET!

Now for the other two: Does anyone need someone killed?

OH! And Protocoach....The main reason I didn't skate is I had horribly weak ankles and flat feet. I put skates on and my feet would splay so wide my ankles were touching the ice. Mind you I think I made up for not ice skating by playing street hockey with Steve Yzerman during his rookie year. Maybe you've heard of him? good times playing goalie with no pads.....

Time to vote.

Canada is having it's Federal Election. Tomorrow. Monday January 23, 2006. It doesn't seem to matter what party I vote for I'm still going to get screwed.

We have something like 13 different parties to vote for this year. Unfortunately not all parties have reps in every riding. For example here in Kingston we have 5 choices: Conservatives, Liberals, and NDP are the three big ones. The Green Party is next in line and we have one independent.

Now I've followed politics about as closely as most people follow the history of bread making. I haven't got freaking clue who to vote for. I've joked and said I'd vote Communist or Bloc Quebecois but neither has a rep here.

Although the indie seems to be nice he'd be useless in parliament he's got no party backing. I refuse to vote PC or Liberal. I don't trust either one of them. That leaves me with NDP or Green....And I know neither has a snowballs chance of coming to power. Even so it's tough decision.

After much online reading, flipping of coins, throwing of darts, consutling of the spirts and talking to the dog I've decided to vote Green. They seem to follow my own beliefs the closest. So "GO GREEN"!

In other news.....

Still haven't heard back if I'm accepted for school. Not suprised though considering I haven't mailed my application in. I called the school to see if I needed to include anything with the $85.00 application processing fee and the application forum. I thought is was simple enough question to answer over the phone, but they want me to come in for a meeting on Wed, so I've held off the mailing. I think I'll call them tomorrow and see if they can answer my questions over the phone.

Friday after dinner we took Logan ice skating for the first time. He had a blast. Fell down a bit but kept wanting to skate some more. So Saturday we went back. I had my skates this time. First time I strapped skates on in about 20 years. I guess it wouldn't have been too bad if the skates fit. Mine are about a half size too small. Logan and I did about 4 laps before my feet hurt so bad I had to stop. Carrie had fun. It was almost as hard to get her off the ice as it was Logan. But we all had fun. Except for the walk. It takes about 40 minutes to walk from our house to the free rink at City Hall and 40 minutes back. But it's still better than the Kingston Memorial Center.

To get to the Memorial Center it only takes 5 minutes. It's an indoor areana and therefore you have to pay. Because they have hockey games they limit the amopunt of ice time the public gets. Now for the math: Public skating is ONLY on Tuesdays from 7:00pm to 7:50pm, the cost per adult is $3.00 and for a kid it's $1.75. So how is paying $8.00 for 50 minutes of skating a good value? Even though Logan complains a little on the walk the free sakte is much better. It opens at 9:00 am and goes untill 10:30pm (weather permitting) and they even maintain the ice surface! AND it's right downtown.

I pead on the floor!

You read it right. I pead on the floor.
I was making dinner last night and needs some peas. I reach into the freezer and grab a bag of the frozen ones. They are rock hard and stuck together. In my infinate wisdom I decide to crush the the peas apart.

The bottom of the bag broke.... All I hear from Logan is, "Daddy! What did you do?"
I told him I pead on the floor. I haven't heard him laugh so hard ever.
He laughed tyhe entire time I was cleaning up the peas....With Nova's help of course.

We took our Christmas decorations down yesterday as well. Thank god. I hate having that stuff up. Makes everythng feel crowded together.

Carrie's been plugging away at her school work, slowly chiping away at her english.
Both she and Logan are out of school untill Jan 9. I can't wait for them to start back. I could use some alone time. LOL

GST cheques should be out tomorrow. That's good. That means I can pay for my school application. Man, I can't wait to start.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! (like you haven't heard that a million times already...)

So a whole year has come and gone. What have I done with it? Not a hell of a lot. That's not to say I wasted it, but I didn't do anything spectacular. I didn't save any lives, or take any. I didn't win shitloads of cash on the lotto. I didn't buy or sell any property, discover new medications, use any illegal drugs, take over a small country.....

"Well what the fuck DID you do?"

I kept getting up in the morning. I kept going. I kept hoping. Somes days that was almost too much to do.

I decided what I really want to do finally and had that dream beaten, crushed and put on the shelf.

So the week before Christmas I applied for a student loan. I was approved. Next week I apply at the school. I'd rather head to the states and become an airsmith, but for now I have to settle for taking Computer Networking & Technical Support. The school has a good grad rate and employment rate. Mind you I might have to relocate but it would most likely a bigger city. And that won't be for 2 years, well a little more sice classes start in Spetember.

We spent Christmas at my moms. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't fantastic either. Probably because I was at the tail end of a cold. It doesn't help that Logan was being a whiner all morning. "I wanna open more presents! I wanna help open that one! I wanna I wanna I wanna!"

Carmen, my "evil" sister, was proposed to earlier this month. No date has been set. Her fiance, Stephen, is a pretty nice guy. Why he chooses to abuse himself by marrying Carmen I don't know.

New Years eve was kind of bland. No money for a babysiter meant we had to stay home. So we had a couple of friends come over. Carrie fell asleep on the couch before 10pm.

So as of now It's 8:48 am, Jan 1 2006. logan and I are up, Carrie is still asleep, and our friends are snoring away on the air matress in the kitchen.

So far the new year is just fantastic.
